"This was a phenomenal trip! It was our first time on the continent and we will definitely be back! The attention to detail and care that Lucinda and Med provided were above all expectations. If at anytime we needed additional questions answered they were there at a moments notice. Looking forward to working with them again in the future!"

"While studying at Howard University, Dr. Acquaye-Doyle coordinated our 2012 service learning trip to Capetown, South Africa. We were there for 10 days and visit several social service agencies as well as sight seeing. Dr. Acquaye-Doyle planned our time with thoughtfulness and emphasized the need to embrace cultural humility as we travel and learn. The tours that she planned of the social service sector have greatly impacted my work, specifically, my research that looks at the needs of families who are living in persistent poverty. Dr Acquaye-Doyle is a skilled communicator and leads with intentionality. I’m looking forward to traveling with her again."

"Traveling globally with Lucinda is hands-down one of the most enriching experiences I’ve had both personally and professionally. I had the distinct pleasure of being trained by Lucinda to coordinate a global program. During travel, Lucinda goes the extra mile to check in on your soul. For example, as a Black/African American woman, it was extremely significant for me to “voyage back to Africa” and to touch the symbolic land of ancestors that I’ll never know. During our travels, Lucinda was always available to share a wide and reaffirming perspective rooted in her complexities as a Ghanaian and Black American woman. Her sensitivity to the broad range of Black culture enriches travel in a way that optimizes well-being. Learning from her contributed to my capacity to be more aware and patient of the humanistic aspects of others. She has helped me understand what it means to truly acknowledge a person for who they show up as when they enter into shared space with you. As an assistant professor, I’ve carried the influence of this experiential learning into my research and the classroom and it has also enhanced my professional service and civic engagement. I consider myself a global citizen and know my mission in transforming communities has been made better through the international travel experiences that I’ve had with Lucinda."

"This was one of the first organized tours that I have the opportunity to go on and was without exaggeration, one of my favorite trips. We encountered experiences outside of the typical tourist areas and connected with people with whom we would have never encountered on our own. I loved the cultural extras beyond the educational tour and our service project. I felt as though I had an insider's experience of the country, yet was still able to visit the various tourist attractions; the perfect balance. I left with greater insight into the culture and people and the surrounding area."
